Trango - The Nameless Tower is one of the Himalaya's most spestacular peaks, overlooking the Baltoro Glacier in the Karakoram, a 1200 meter granite spire soaring to an altitude of 6200 meter. It was first climbed in 1976 by a british team and subsequently by a variety of routes, one of which, the Yugoslav Route, (actually Slovenian) has become a popular objective. It involves high standard rock-climbing at high altitude and was repeated by Destivelle and Jeff Lowe in 1990. The climb entailed some of the greatest difficulties yet achieved at altitude.The film Nameless Tower" has been made during this expedition.
